Is it normal behavior?
I have a boy of 4 1/2yr old who attends VPK teacher and has problems with several of his students do not listen. The first time he has been brought to my attention, I asked the professor exactly what happened b / c it was going to that daycare for 4 years and I've never had complaints. She went to explain that there is a little boy in his class is horrible and does not listen. I told my son that he must always be a leader and not a followert, but we are talking about a 4 1 / 2 yr old. So I took off the television for the night and made a lot of talk and explain. Who still does not work, so I started taking most of his stuff as leapfrog and his toy box. After that, it was well for about 2 weeks. Today I had a bad report that some students did not listen again. I started by removing the TV again and no swimming for the weekend. He is a boy very smart and we talk a lot. It behaves very well at home. What to do? Suggestions?
I think there is a problem here how the teacher was running his classroom, daycare or preschool. She lost control and if it early childhood training, she would be able to know where is the problem and bring back into line. Does it have enough activities in the classroom for Children have many places to play in. What is the duration of his circle time or group time. They should be more than ten or fifteen minutes at a time. If it a discipline problem they need to find new positive ways to deal with children who have the problem of listening. Yes talk to your son, but before giving too much impact do some classroom observation. Not just once but several times, and times when you just show in day out or put in the context of mutual assistance. How many children are in class and the number of teachers or assistants are they? Do not just listen to the reports but ask for a conference and seek clarification on what is your child (not that children do others) has trouble with. Do not be afraid to talk with the head teacher either. If it continues the director must observe and give suggestions the teacher about how to treat a child or children. Cares for children and nursery schools must be accredited and have a program writing and the parent handbook. They need goals for children and their teachers must have training in the field. Please do not take no for an answer as to visit or observe without appointment. It might not be the place for your child should be. Good luck and remember that you are the best advocate for your child!
