Educational Toys – how they have evolved
The modern busy parent tries to compensate for his lack of time for her children by investing heavily on education. So it is no surprise how many parents, for example move mountains just to provide their kids entertaining products which not only encourage play, but also promote discovery and learning.
Makers of toys worldwide recognize this growing trend and are therefore coming up with new lines and improving educational toys and games for children almost every month. What was once limited Specialty toy and game shops, toys and educational games are now a staple in all oriented stores children around the world even among the general mass retailers like Wal-Mart and K-Mart.
Statistics show that sales of toys and games have declined over the years. However, educational toys have been rising as more parents choose to buy products that give them the most value for their money by compared to, for example, buying Bratz dolls and Hot Wheels.
Most educational toys has been broken in the holiday season of the year 2000, when Toy Maker LeapFrog LeapPad Learning System electronic reading toy became the breeze bestseller of the time, helping the company increase its sales jumped 120 percent!
LeapFrog's success paved the way for other major toy manufacturers and small to find educational toys of their own. JAKKS Pacific, under its Child Guidance brand, released its own line of Children's Educational toys and games following a deal with Baby Genius. Hasbro has released its Baby Einstein line and unveiled its preschool units, namely the Baby Einstein Company and Playskool. These new toys encourage children to dabble in art, music, foreign languages and local, and even poetry.
Strong demand for toys and educational games for children has urged major retailers like Toys "R" Us, to allocate shelf on shelves for these kinds of toys. And because households increasingly turn into families with two incomes, it is likely that demand will increase further as parents looking for products that would attempt to fill their absence during the formative years of their children's learning.
With the rise of request, it will not be a surprise if the price tag that comes with these educational toys and games will also diminish as the years pass. Currently, these types of toys are a little expensive (although it did not stop most parents to buy them). To the future because of the immense interest, toys and educational games will be accessible to all.
